canon camcorder or camera?

Question by Jerry Duwall: canon camcorder or camera?
I just bought a canon vixia hf200 a little while ago, but now I see for only about $ 100 more I could get a canon rebel T2i which does 1080p video and 30fps. Doesn’t my camcorder only do 1080i??? And the stills on the camcorder are only 3.2mp. The T2i does 18mp stills. Am I missing something, or do these SLR cameras make camcorders pointless?

I’m no camera/camcorder expert, but I’m wondering if I should sell my camcorder and get a Canon T2i camera. I don’t currently even have a good digital camera, though video recording is my main concern. What do you guys think?
keep in mind both the camcorder and camera can record in 16bit stereo audio and full hd1080

In my limited experience, camcorders are better for movies (not for pictures). Cameras are better for pictures (not for movies). Because of this, I usually carry both.

Question by : What’s the best all-in-one lens for a Canon digital rebel?
I am looking to upgrade from my kit lens on my Canon Digital Rebel XT. I can spend around $ 500. I want something like the sigma 18-125 in terms of range, but I’ve heard mixed reviews on that one. I’ve done so much research now that I’ve confused myself. Any suggestions would be great!

Turn off flash on Canon EOS Digital Rebel?

Question by ArtistAllAround: Turn off flash on Canon EOS Digital Rebel?
I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel. I was wondering if there was any way to turn the flash lower? I know how to turn the flash off, but have no luck lowering it. Thanks!

Answer by David M
Nope. It is what it is. If you want the ability to adjust the intensity of the flash you need to buy a shoe mount flash.

They do make a diffuser called the puffer that will soften and diffuse the light coming out of the flash though. Cost is $ 20

Question by Becca: what canon SLR camera to buy?
I have been reading reviews of the new canon cameras and I am interested in the EOS 7D or the EOS 5D MARKII. from personal experience please tell me which one I should purchase and why?

Answer by Jim A
Well if you have the budget the 5D is about $ 3,500. It’s an excellent full frame camera. Full frame meaning the sensor is the same size as a frame of 35mm film. That also means you can blow its photos up to probably door size.

The Alpha 37 is quite small for a D-SLR—it is smaller than the Nikon D3100 and Canon Rebel T2i. It can shoot at 5 frames per second with continuous autofocus, and also supports 7 frames per second when shooting images with a 1.4x crop.
